Our Story
At the end of 2019, I started volunteering in my community as a coordinator of volunteers and attending city meetings to do my share to help have better parks and libraries in our neighborhood.
Most of the volunteers are women. I quickly realized that building strong relationships and supporting them to achieve their goals brought a lot of joy to my heart; that experience took me on the path of becoming a health promoter, which came with some challenges because I am a mother of two. Juggling and balancing work, home, taking care of my children and my health while trying to look good, is not easy, but it’s worth it!
Soon I realized that in my city it’s a challenge to find comfortable, feminine, good quality and professional clothing at affordable prices.
I needed that combo! Talking with my colleagues, I noticed that they also had the same problem, so it occurred to me to open a boutique where we could find comfy clothes, and naturally chic silhouette dresses that can be worn to work, everyday life, going out or for a special occasion…
Fast-forward to 2022, I launched into the adventure of learning how to start a business and found the resources and information that I needed through the Accessity Academy and Eva Longoria Foundation, such as marketing, finances, permitting process, and so much more! I’m infinitely thankful for them and the talented wonderful women I met during this process. Their company made the experience memorable.
Today, Maritay’s Boutique is a mobile, family-run women’s clothing business, proudly based in the South Bay Area of San Diego!
